Scott McTominay hits a brace on Wednesday as Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford to move in the premier league table.

McTominay opened the scoring for United 19th minute into the game. He collected a rebound and hit it precisely into the bottom right corner.

As the match progressed, Robert Sanchez had a great save after McTominay jumped high to meet a cross and glanced a promising low header from close range, but the goalkeeper pulled off a brilliant stop to keep it out.

Nicolas Jackson took a great touch after receiving a pass inside the box. He immediately unleashed a low shot to the middle of the goal, but the keeper pulled off a decent save.

Also, Mykhailo Mudryk found himself with a great opportunity. He unleashed a shot from the edge of the box, which whizzed just wide off the left post.

Chelsea equalised shortly before the break. Mudryk slipped the ball through to Cole Palmer and he darted into the box to unleash a magnificent shot into the bottom right corner.

Immediately after the restart, Jackson missed a chance to score. He produced a header from inside the box, but it went narrowly over the crossbar.

In the 55th minute, Alejandro Garnacho tricked his way past challenges into the box and dragged his shot narrowly wide off the right post.

McTominay got his brace in the 69th minute to make it 2-1 for United. He jumped highest to connect with a perfect cross from Garnacho and planted his close-range header into the top of the net.
