Ms Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA) was suspended on Tuesday over alleged financial fraud at the agency.

The suspension of Halima Shehu who has also worked as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme was approved by President Bola Tinubu pending investigation of alleged fraud against her.

Meanwhile, Dr Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager will act as the Coordinator of the agency pending the conclusion of the investigation of Shehu.

Her suspension is coming about three months after the confirmation of her appointment by the Senate.

Hamila Shehu also served with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. That was between 2017 and 2022.

The National Social Investment Programme, NSIPA, is an agency saddled with executing interventions aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting social inclusion across Nigeria.
