'They're unfounded stories' - K1 speaks on rumour of marital crisis

Veteran Fuji musician and the Olori Omooba, Akile Ijebu, Mayegun Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate has debunked fresh rumours that his marriage to Emmanuella Ropo is in crisis.

The claims resurfaced after the Fuji singer did not celebrate Ropo’s birthday on social media on January 1.

The musician, however, refuted the claims in a post via his Instagram page on Thursday.

K1 shared a photo of himself and his wife on their wedding day. He described the day as “glorious and never to be forgotten”.

The 66-year-old ace singer also described the rumour as the “work of lazy-minded people gathering unfounded stories to trend”.

“A glorious day like this day in history of Ijebuland, can never be forgotten in 100 years from today,” he said.

“For some lazy minded people gathering unfounded stories just to trend like what you doing is God given talent.

“Ibaje eniyan kodase Olorun duro. Be buwa-buwa kole dunwa, ipati e un poose laasan, eebu tee buwa yeye yin 0. Alayonuso emu kokoro etillekun ete sobolo.”

Kwam 1 and Ropo got married in September 2021. Ropo earlier described her husband as a “rare breed among men”.

In March last year, there were claims on social media about the pair having marital issues.

The rumours circulated after K1 rejected a kiss from his wife during an event at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The couple, however, denied the reports.

In her 40s, Emmanuel runs a thriving children boutique and gifts store, Partydreams, in Omole Phase 1, Lagos. She also has a liquor store and is a Forex trader. She attended Yaba College of Technology where she studied Estate Management.

he leggy beauty and mother-of-three from a previous marriage, is also a titled chief in Otun Igbehin, Abeokuta.

She holds the traditional title of Otun Iyalode of Igbehin in Abeokuta.

Her late dad, Stephen Gboyega Odebiyi, was a respected Egba chief. He retired from the Nigerian Ports Authority but became a customary judge after retirement.

At her father’s burial reception on June 17, Kwam 1 was on the bandstand to entertain her guests at the party.
