Renowned singer Charles Oputa, famously known as Charly Boy, has offered his thoughts on the Super Eagles’ 2-1 loss to the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON 2023 played in Abidjan on Sunday.

Charly Boy acknowledged the efforts of Jose Peseiro’s team against Ivory Coast while conceding that the superior team emerged victorious.

“The Super Eagles really tried but the best team won,” Charly Boy expressed on X.

“Now, it’s time for us to confront the challenges ahead,” he added.

However, Cote d’Ivoire managed to equalize in the second half courtesy of Franck Kessie’s header. In the dying minutes of the game, Sebastien Haller secured the win for the hosts with a well-taken flick past goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
