The Commander General of the Kano Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has resigned from his appointment after Governor Abba Yusuf criticised the mode of operations by the outfit.
Daurawa announced his resignation in a short clip posted on his official Facebook page on Friday.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had on Thursday berated Hisbah, the state sharia police over its mode of invading public places in its fight against acts of immorality in the state.
While addressing Imams at the Government House on Thursday, Yusuf said Hisbah must review its methods of arrests.
But in his reaction reaction, Daurawa, said Hisbah under his stewardship, had done its best and what was right under the tenets of Islam to fight immorality in the state.
