As Nollywood mourns the death of Sisi Quadri, his younger brother, Oyebamiji, has revealed the circumstances surrounding the popular actor’s untimely death.
According to a statement from Sisi Quadri’s brother during the burial rites, he said:
“On February 19th, we received a distress call informing us that he had collapsed at a location and was subsequently rushed to the hospital. Just the day before, on the 18th, he had sent us money for our mother’s upcoming one-year memorial on the 22nd, expressing his desire for us to ensure everything was arranged properly, much like he had done last year when he had a borehole installed. Initially, he was treated for malaria during his hospital stay.
We were discharged from the hospital on the 26th, where it was also revealed he was suffering from an ulcer. Despite starting to feel better, he was already gearing up to return to work on a film set. Concerned for his well-being, we intervened, insisting he take some rest, as my brother seldom took time for himself. However, on the 28th, he began experiencing severe hiccups.
We rushed him back to the hospital and were eventually referred to LAUTECH in Ogbomosho. Despite initial tests showing malaria and ulcer, he remained in good spirits, even sharing jokes with police officers on the way. He exited the vehicle upon arrival at the hospital and walked in under his own strength”.
