Comedian and social media influencer, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has clarified that he wasn’t the one behind the recent reconciliation between Don Jazzy, and D’Banj.
Don Jazzy and D’Banj, the brains behind Mo Hit Records, a powerhouse in the Nigerian music industry since its inception in 2004, parted ways amidst discord in 2012.
However, after a break of 12 years, they seemingly buried the hatchet on Friday.
In a now-viral video shared by D’Banj on Instagram in collaboration with Don Jazzy, the duo can be seen warmly embracing each other, marking a symbolic reunion.
The video served as a dual-purpose announcement, promoting D’Banj’s latest single, ‘Since 04,’ which pays tribute to the former Mo Hit Records era, and also celebrating Mr Macaroni’s birthday.
Speculation arose from an old tweet by Mr Macaroni dating back to March 2013, where he expressed a strong belief in reconciling D’Banj and Don Jazzy.
However, on Friday, Mr Macaroni clarified that while he held immense admiration for both artistes, he played no direct role in their reconciliation, as they had maintained an amicable relationship prior to this.
He wrote, “Well, I didn’t do any reconciliation because they have been cool. But I’m so glad I can come back to this tweet and smile because Jah knows I have always loved these two with all my heart.”
