Tinubu appoints new Corps Marshal/CEO for FRSC

FRSC clarifies that it was sued by one Shebb Ugochukwu over violation of fundamental human rights and not a criminal trial for bribery.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Mohammed Shehu as the Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

This is contained in a statement issued by the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen on Wednesday.

Shehu takes over from Dauda Biu, who has attained the age of 60 and retired from service. Biu had been Corps Marshal since 2022.

The statement said Shehu’s appointment took effect from 20 May, 2024.

The statement reads: “The appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from May 20, 2024, to the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the Commission.

“President Tinubu tasks the appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment.”
