Abdullahi Abbas, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Kano State has described the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a threat to the state.

Abbas who also called for the arrest of Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State said this in reaction to recent allegations against the immediate past government of the State and the Federal Government, according to Channels Television.

Kwankwaso had during the flag-off of the construction of an 85-kilometre road in Madobi, his hometown accused the Abdullahi Ganduje-led government of the state of breeding Boko Haram terrorists.

He also accused the then All Progressives Congress, APC government of misleading the Federal Government to destabilize the state.

He also said some enemies have been working against the new government of Abba Kabir Yusuf in the state.

But while responding to the claim by Kwankwaso, Abbas said security agencies should arrest the former senator so he could list the names of those he referred to as the enemies working against the state.

The Kano APC Chairman also said no amount of threat by Kwankwaso, could intimidate the federal government.

He alleged that since the ‘forceful’ enthronement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Emir by the incumbent Kano governor, hundreds of weapon-brandishing thugs have been recruited, and stationed at the emir’s palace.

He added that all sorts of illicit substances are openly being sold, posing a threat to residents within and around the Emir palace.

“We want to call on security agents in the strongest terms to arrest this man so that he reveals the identity of those he referred to as enemies of the state working for the federal government to recruit Boko Haram terrorists and insurgents’’

The chairman noted that the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has had sinister motives to foment trouble in Kano.

“Kwankwaso for a long time has been a security threat to Kano and the nation in view of his antecedents. He runs a movement in which he has been widely accused of recruiting youth, mostly school dropouts to unleash terror on the people in the state,” he alleged.
