Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on corporate organisations, religious bodies, and individuals to collaborate with the government in ensuring that the families of fallen soldiers are not left in neglect or despair.

The governor made this appeal on Sunday during the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Thanksgiving Service held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Sanwo-Olu emphasised the need for compassion and collective responsibility to honour the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes.

“True remembrance must be backed by concrete actions to support the dependents who now face life without their loved ones. No family of a fallen soldier should be left without care or hope,” the governor stated.

Sanwo-Olu outlined several initiatives undertaken by the Lagos State Government to assist the families of fallen military personnel.

He further reiterated the state’s commitment to enhancing existing programmes while urging private organisations and religious communities to join hands in supporting these families.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Thanksgiving Service also served as a moment to reflect on the courage and sacrifices of Nigeria’s military personnel.

Sanwo-Olu extended gratitude to serving members of the armed forces for their dedication and bravery, assuring them of continued government support.

The governor called on all Lagosians to recommit themselves to fostering peace, unity, and security in honour of the nation’s fallen heroes.
