Nigeria’s inflation rate recorded a notable decline in February 2025, easing to 23.18%, down from 24.48% in January 2025, according to newly released data.
According to the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS), this represents a 1.30% decrease within the month, signalling a gradual slowdown in inflationary pressures.
On a year-on-year basis, the February 2025 inflation rate was 8.52% lower than the 31.70% recorded in the same month of 2024, reflecting a substantial improvement in price stability compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, the month-on-month inflation rate for February 2025 stood at 2.04%, indicating the pace of price increases within the month.
The decline in inflation suggests potential economic relief for Nigerians, though concerns remain over the impact of fluctuating food prices, currency instability, and other economic factors influencing consumer purchasing power.
