All eyes are on Lagos tonight as the 2025 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) takes center stage at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites.
The highly anticipated ceremony will celebrate outstanding achievements in African film and television, with stars from across the continent expected to grace the red carpet.
The glamorous event will be broadcast live across multiple Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv, including Africa Magic Showcase, Urban, Family, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo.
For digital viewers, the ceremony can also be streamed live via the DStv Stream app.
The festivities begin at 4:00 PM WAT with red carpet coverage, where fans can catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities and nominees as they arrive in style. The main awards ceremony follows at 7:00 PM WAT, spotlighting some of the most remarkable performances and productions in African cinema over the past year.
This year’s AMVCA features 28 award categories, with 18 winners selected by a panel of industry experts and 10 chosen through public votes. A major highlight of the 2025 edition is the introduction of the Best Music Score category, which acknowledges the invaluable contributions of composers and sound designers to the cinematic experience.
