Nigerian Dancehall musician, Timaya, has revealed how much he made from his first and second albums.

Timaya stated in an interview with Okay Africa on Monday that his first album sold for a sum of five hundred thousand Naira.

However, he did not regard this as a loss, as he said it was a big opportunity for him at that time.

He also revealed that the buyer was a marketer in the Alaba market who increased the offer after the album became a success.

“He gave me 7 million naira for the music video, paid for the videos, and even bought me a car. He called me a good market,” he said.

Timaya also revealed that the success of his first album set a precedent for the second album, which went for 24 million Naira.

“I was been priced at 10 million by the first marketer, then Abu Ventures came and offered to buy the album. He ended up paying 24 million for the album. At that point, only 2Baba, P-Square, and D’banj were paid that kind of money,” Timaya averred.
