The Labour Party (LP) in Ogbadibo Local Government Area has officially dissolved its entire structure and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
This major political change was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
According to party leaders, the decision followed weeks of discussions and thinking about the current situation in Nigeria. They said they want to support a party that will reduce the hardship in the country and provide better leadership than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
AIn statement released after the meeting described the move as a “bold and strategic decision.” One of the stakeholders explained:
“We decided to merge with the ADC because we believe it is more people-focused, transparent, and progressive.”
The meeting was attended by former LP ward executives, youth leaders, women leaders, and community mobilizers across the local government. They all declared their full support for the ADC moving forward.
Agada Onu, who is the Director of New Media and Strategic Communication to Hon. Domfrank Ochigbo, confirmed the merger.
He said the decision was made to build a stronger political group that will truly care for the people and uphold democratic values both locally and nationally.
