Popular Nigerian actress and TV host, Nancy Isime, has opened up about a  humbling chapter from her past, revealing that she once squatted in singer Yemi Alade’s apartment during her early hustle in the entertainment industry.

In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the screen diva expressed deep gratitude to Yemi Alade for her kindness and generosity during a time when she struggled to find a place to sleep after late-night jobs in Lagos.

Nancy, who began working at the age of 17 as a model and event usher, narrated how she often slept on floors or chairs at event venues because her family home in Ikorodu was too far to return to safely at night. Sometimes, she would trek home at 2 or 3 a.m., navigating the streets in heels while her family worried.

Things changed when she reached out to Yemi Alade — then just an acquaintance — and asked if she could stay in her off-campus apartment.

Without hesitation, Yemi welcomed her in, allowing her to stay for weeks without ever complaining.

“Yemi, I meant it when I said I’ll tell this story every chance I get,” Nancy wrote, recalling how that act of kindness made a lifelong impact.

She eventually secured her own place in the same building, and their bond grew stronger.

“It wasn’t just the shelter, it was the peace and respect she showed me that truly stood out,” Nancy added.

Nancy ended the post with a note of loyalty: “My Padi @yemialade, I dey for you for life!”
