Struggling Wolves delivered a stunning blow to Liverpool’s title ambitions on Tuesday night, securing a dramatic 2–1 victory at Molineux in Premier League clash.

In a pulsating contest, the home side showed resilience and clinical edge to punish Liverpool’s lapses, sealing the win with a stoppage-time deflected strike that sent the crowd of 30,247 into raptures.

Liverpool dominated large spells of possession in the first half, probing through Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo, but Wolves’ defensive discipline and the assured presence of goalkeeper José Sá kept the visitors at bay.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 78th minute. Rodrigo Gomes latched onto a pass inside the box and coolly lifted the ball over an advancing Alisson Becker, who had strayed off his line, to put Wolves 1–0 ahead.

Liverpool responded swiftly. Five minutes later, Salah produced a moment of individual brilliance, gliding past defenders before rifling a shot into the right side of the net from inside the penalty area to level the score at 1–1. It was a classic intervention from the Egyptian forward, who once again carried Liverpool’s attacking threat.

Liverpool pressed desperately in the dying moments. Virgil van Dijk’s header was comfortably handled by Sá, while Federico Chiesa’s late effort from distance posed little danger. Despite six minutes of stoppage time, Arne Slot’s side could not find a second equaliser.
