The Chief Judge of Kano State, Justice Dije Abdu-Aboki, has sworn in 30 newly appointed judges of the Sharia Court.

This is contained in a statement made available by the spokesperson of the Kano State Judiciary, Baba Jibo-Ibrahim, on Saturday in Kano.

He said the ceremony marked a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen administration of justice in the state.

Justice Abdu-Aboki congratulated the newly appointed judges and urged them to be God-fearing and to discharge their duties with integrity, impartiality and accountability.

She also emphasised adherence to the principles of justice, fairness and the rule of law.

Also speaking, the state’s Attorney-General, Mr Abdulkarim Kabiru-Maude, SAN, congratulated the judges and charged them to uphold ethical standards in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He underscored the importance of ensuring that courts remain pillars of equity and social harmony, while reaffirming the state government’s commitment to supporting the judiciary.

The event was attended by the Grand Khadi of Kano State, Tijjani Yusuf-Yakasai, Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal, High Court judges, and other stakeholders in the justice sector. (NAN)
