FG to partly close Ikorodu-Sagamu road for repairs

The Federal Government has announced that parts of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road will be partly closed from Monday for repair work.
The Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, Mr. Olayiwola Komolafe, said the closure is to allow contractors continue reconstruction on damaged sections of the road.
He explained that the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, directed the contractor, Arab Contractors, to return to the site and complete important parts of the project quickly.
The affected areas include:
Ikorodu Roundabout to Sabo Junction in Lagos Cement to Coca-Cola area inward Sagamu
According to Komolafe, vehicles travelling from Ikorodu to Sagamu will use diverted lanes under a counterflow traffic arrangement.
He said the repair work will last for three months to allow construction and proper drying of the concrete pavement.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will help control traffic during the period.
Motorists were advised to cooperate with traffic officials and security agencies.
The ministry also apologised for the inconvenience the road work may cause road users.
