A presidential aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Stanley Osifo, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu following his victory in the party’s presidential primary ahead of the 2027 general election.
Osifo, who contested against Tinubu in the just-concluded APC primary, extended his congratulations shortly after the President emerged winner of the exercise with a landslide victory.
PM News reports that Tinubu polled 10.99 million votes to secure the APC presidential ticket, defeating Osifo, who garnered 16,504 votes.
Despite the outcome, Osifo recorded notable performances in some states, including Niger, where he secured 5,248 votes, Kano with 2,675 votes, Lagos with 1,186 votes, Abia with 1,007 votes, Oyo with 929 votes, Benue with 779 votes and Nasarawa with 768 votes.
Tinubu, who accepted his nomination as the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election on Sunday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, expressed gratitude to party members for renewing their confidence in his leadership.
The President declared that Nigeria remained on an “irreversible path of economic expansion,” stressing the need for continuity to consolidate reforms and sustain national progress.
“Today, our task is to affirm that continuity is essential, to consolidate reform, secure progress, and strengthen the foundation of a modern Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
He also reflected on his emergence as the party’s candidate in 2022 and subsequent election as President, recalling his political journey with the support of APC stakeholders.
