The 18-year-old Nigerian winger recently completed his move from Swedish club AIK Stockholm after impressing with his performances during the 2026 season.
His pace, attacking ability, and confidence on the ball attracted attention from several clubs.
Speaking to Brighton’s official website, Yohanna said the club’s track record of giving young players opportunities was a major reason for his decision.
“I watch a lot of Premier League matches, and I know Brighton is one of the clubs that trust and develop young players,” he said.
Yohanna admitted that leaving AIK Stockholm was not easy because he enjoyed his time in Sweden and had strong support from people at the club.
“I had many good people around me who took care of me. Everyone showed me love, so it was difficult to leave,” he said.
The young winger also revealed that he spoke with Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler before completing the transfer. According to Yohanna, the coach encouraged him to keep working hard and fighting for success.
