President Bola Tinubu has declared that criminal hideouts are gradually disappearing across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), attributing the development to ongoing infrastructure and security improvements that are restoring confidence and social life in Abuja.

The President made the remark on Friday during the inauguration of the Collector Road CN2 in Katampe District, Abuja.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu said the transformation taking place in the nation’s capital reflects the impact of effective governance focused on security, mobility and improved living conditions for residents.

According to him, recent investments in critical infrastructure have gone beyond road construction to include measures aimed at enhancing public safety and improving the overall quality of life.

“We did not stop at the road. We installed solar streetlights. Today, Katampe is safer at night. Abuja’s real life is coming back. Criminal hideouts are disappearing,” the President said.

Tinubu described the newly inaugurated road as a strategic project linking Katampe and Mabushi districts to major transportation networks within the capital city.

He noted that the project aligns with the objectives of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to accelerate infrastructure development and stimulate economic growth across the country.

The President said improved road networks would help reduce traffic congestion, ease commuting challenges and improve connectivity for residents and businesses.

According to him, infrastructure projects such as the CN2 road represent more than physical development.

“A road like CN2 is more than concrete. It is hope,” he stated.

Tinubu maintained that the project demonstrates government’s commitment to delivering tangible benefits to citizens and improving living standards.

He also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for driving the ongoing transformation of Abuja and delivering on the administration’s vision for the capital city.

The President recalled Wike’s performance in previous public offices, saying it influenced his decision to entrust him with the responsibility of repositioning the FCT.

“Wike, you have not disappointed Nigerians. From abandoned roads to new boulevards,” he said.

Tinubu praised the minister’s efforts in expanding road infrastructure, improving water supply projects and upgrading judicial facilities across the territory.

“You do not give excuses. You give results. The people of the FCT call you Mr Project,” the President added.

He described Wike’s performance as evidence of a commi
