“I’m wondering how teary you will be putting all these short video clips together. Kia,” the follower wrote.

Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has stirred fresh emotions after sharing a touching video of his late best friend, Alexx Ekubo, more than two months after the actor’s death.

Ogbonna posted the compilation on Instagram on Sunday, reliving moments from a friendship that spanned over 15 years.

The video captured the laughter, dreams and family-like bond they shared before Ekubo’s death on May 11, 2026.

“It was all God. It was all love. It was all laughter. It was all dreams. It was all family,” Ogbonna wrote.

“You will forever remain a part of us. Rest on, Ekuuuuu.”

The tribute attracted more than 50,000 likes and 2,000 comments, with fans and colleagues offering words of comfort to the grieving actor.

One follower reflected on how difficult it must have been for Ogbonna to assemble the clips.

“I’m wondering how teary you will be putting all these short video clips together. Kia,” the follower wrote.

Another described their friendship as a rare bond, saying Ogbonna might never completely recover from the loss.

“IK will never be able to heal from such loss; he’ll just learn to live with it. May God continue to comfort and strengthen you,” the user wrote.

Another follower said the video began with happy memories before delivering a painful reminder of Ekubo’s death.

“Smiled till the ending part. Omo, death, you do this one,” the comment read.

Ekubo died at the age of 40 following a private battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

He was buried in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State, after funeral rites attended by his family, friends and Nollywood colleagues.

Ogbonna previously paid an emotional tribute to Ekubo during the Service of Songs and has continued supporting the late actor’s parents.
