Fans react as Shakira shares emotional goodbye with Uganda’s ghetto kids

Global music star Shakira became emotional as she said goodbye to Uganda’s famous dance group, Ghetto Kids, after her second sold out concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

A video shared online showed Shakira hugging the young dancers backstage and telling them that their friendship would continue even after they returned to Uganda.

“You’ll be my friends forever,” she told them, adding that they would stay in touch after the trip. She also said her sons, Milan and Sasha, had become close friends with the dancers and would continue communicating with them.

Shakira also suggested that the Ghetto Kids could join her during her upcoming residency in Madrid.

“Maybe I’ll see you in Madrid. Maybe you want to come to Madrid,” she said. However, there has been no official confirmation that the group will perform with her there.

Sharing the emotional moment on social media, Shakira praised the Ghetto Kids for their joy, love and impressive talent. She also spoke about the many talented children around the world who are still waiting for opportunities to show their abilities.

Shakira first worked with the Ghetto Kids when they appeared in the music video for her song “Dai Dai.” Since then, they have performed with her at several major events, including the FIFA World Cup final halftime show and her recent concerts at the Barclays Center.
