Anfield bore witness to a masterclass as Liverpool decimated Ipswich Town 4-1 in a thrilling encounter that showcased clinical finishing, defensive brilliance, and tactical superiority.
The match kicked off with the Reds taking charge early, as Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Ibrahima Konaté set him up beautifully, and the Hungarian’s precise shot nestled in the bottom-right corner, leaving Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton helpless.
Liverpool’s dominance continued, and in the 35th minute, Cody Gakpo’s inch-perfect cross found Mohamed Salah, who volleyed a sensational strike into the roof of the net, doubling the home side’s advantage.
Ipswich struggled to cope with Liverpool’s relentless pressure, and their woes deepened before halftime.

However, the visitors’ attempts to stem the tide were in vain. Liverpool added a fourth goal in the 66th minute when Gakpo headed in a delightful cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold, sealing his brace and further delighting the roaring Anfield crowd.
Ipswich managed to grab a consolation goal in the 90th minute. Jacob Greaves leapt high to meet a corner and guided his header into the right side of the net, sparking muted celebrations among the visitors.
Despite the late effort, it was clear Ipswich were outclassed throughout the encounter.
Notably, Liverpool’s Alisson was in inspired form, pulling off a remarkable save in the 84th minute to deny George Hirst from close range.
The Brazilian goalkeeper’s quick reflexes ensured that Ipswich’s threat was kept at bay.
Ipswich’s frustrations boiled over with Julio Enciso and Liam Delap picking up yellow cards for rough challenges, while Wataru Endo of Liverpool required medical attention after a collision.
