Gbagada Mock Nations Cup Begins

Thirty two teams have confirmed their readiness to take part in this year’s Gbagada Mock Nations Cup which begins today at the Gbagada Roundabout playground, Lagos.

Four matches will be played today. All Stars will face Maintain Boyz, Imperial Academy will battle Obi FC, Honour FC will tackle Nice Base FC while Current FC will slug it out with Jagunmolu FC in the last match of the day.

Chairman Organising Committee, Kemac Emina, advised the teams to desist from social vices that can bring the tourney into disrepute and warned that any team that violate the rules on or off the pitch will be sanctioned accordingly .

“We have decided to sanction any team that violate our rules. We have learnt from the past experience . I want club owners and coaches to warn their players and fans not to take law into their hands during the tourney,” he said.

On the preparedness of the championship, Emina said they have put necessary machinery in place for the success of the competition. He disclosed that they have employed certified referees to officiate all the matches, promising to treat all the teams equally.
