Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed spiritualist, Yul Edochie, has stirred conversations online after attributing the increasing rate of untimely deaths in Nigeria to the widespread neglect of traditional African practices in favour of Western lifestyles.
In a post shared on his social media platform, Edochie urged Nigerians to return to their cultural roots, stating that traditional spirituality holds the key to longevity and protection from premature death.
“Untimely death has become rampant in our society. It’s happening because majority of us have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of the white man,” he stated.
The actor, who recently declared himself a traditionalist and spiritual guide, emphasized the importance of reconnecting with indigenous customs, which he believes offer guidance on spiritual dos and don’ts.
“Go home and embrace our traditional ways. As a traditionalist, you’ll be fully enlightened on the dos and don’ts of spirituality,” he added.
