Oba Adebola ascends throne as 5th Olugbagun of Igbagun

Ododo had last week Friday approved the appointment of Oba Samuel Shola Adebola to fill the vacuum created by the demise of the former Olugbagun of Igbagun, Oba Joshua Adeyemi who died in October 3, 2024.
The ancient town of Igbagun in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State was agog on Monday, 26th May, 2025, when an illustrious son of the land, Samuel Shola Adebola mounted the throne of his forefathers and was coronated aa the 5th Olugbagun of Igbagun land.
The ancestral home of the first Olugbagun, venue of the coronation ceremony was filled to capacity as resident of the community, traditional rulers across Yagba Traditional council, people of Okunland, friends and well-wishers of the Oba all trooped out to witness the historic and epoch-making event.
Kogi State Governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo had last week Friday approved the appointment of Oba Samuel Shola Adebola to fill the vacuum created by the demise of the former Olugbagun of Igbagun, Oba Joshua Adeyemi who died in October 3, 2024.
Oba Adebola reign is projected to bring peace, harmony, development, and tranquility to the community revered in the southeast part of the local government and Okun land as a whole.
