Croatia’s consul (a government official) in Israel and his wife were slightly injured when Iran launched missiles at Tel Aviv, Croatia’s Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman said on Saturday.
He shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“I’m shocked to hear our consul and his wife were hurt in the Tel Aviv attack. The building where they live was hit.”
He added that he spoke with the couple and luckily, their injuries are minor and they are not in danger.
Radman also said his ministry is staying in touch with the Croatian embassy in Israel and doing everything needed to keep their workers safe.
“We strongly condemn attacks on civilians and diplomats. We ask all sides to calm down and avoid more violence,” he said.
On Friday, Israel carried out a large attack on Iran, hitting many places including military bases, nuclear facilities, and homes. Iran said 78 people died and 320 were injured.
Iran fought back by sending drones and missiles to Israel, killing three people and injuring many others.
