Nigerian socialite and businessman Eze-Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, has bravely opened up about a traumatic experience from his childhood, revealing that he was sexually assaulted by two house helps and consequently lost his virginity at the age of 13.

Pretty Mike shared his personal story during a recent episode of the “In The Company Of Men” podcast, using the platform to advocate for increased parental vigilance over male children, stating that they are as vulnerable to abuse as their female counterparts.

“Men have been encouraged to come out to talk about sexual abuse and being taken advantage of sexually at a tender age,” Pretty Mike began, addressing the broader issue. He then went on to detail his own experience: “I lost my virginity at 13 to my housemaid. Not even one, but two. Did that change my orientation about sex? Yes.”

While acknowledging the great impact the incident had on him, Pretty Mike stated his decision to move past it, particularly given his age at the time.

“Am I coming out to report it to say that something negative happened to me? I think I have decided to let it go, especially at that age. Nowadays, 13 can even be seen as an adult sometimes.”

However, he drew a clear distinction for younger victims, emphasizing that “For people that were taken advantage at 6,7,8,9,10 it is totally no because they had no idea.”

His powerful message to parents underscored the necessity of equal protection for all children. “I always tell parents to pay attention to your kids, not just the females but the males also,” he urged.

“Because I have realised that parents always consider their female children when hiring domestic workers, but what about the male child? They are all young. There shouldn’t be a double standard. Look out for your kids and make sure nobody takes advantage of both the female and the male.”
