President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Vice President’s wife Hajia Nana Shettima, hosted Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the State House in Abuja on Monday to celebrate their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.

The reception, attended by prominent figures including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and National Sports Commission Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko, marked a national tribute to the team’s triumph over Morocco in a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory on Saturday.

Super Falcons Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Super Falcons Goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnaozie presented the WAFCON trophy to President Tinubu at the State Banquet Hall, symbolizing Nigeria’s continued dominance in African women’s football.

The ceremony highlighted the team’s resilience, with the President commending their achievement as a source of national pride.
