Isak vs Osimhen: Robson names the striker he rates higher

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson has given his opinion on the ongoing debate between two top strikers in Europe Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray and Alexander Isak of Liverpool.

Robson was speaking after Galatasaray’s impressive 1-0 victory over the Premier League champions, Liverpool, in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Nigerian star Osimhen scored the winning goal in the first half from the penalty spot, securing all three points for the Turkish side at Rams Park.

Despite Osimhen’s strong performance and his three goals in just five appearances for Galatasaray this season, Robson still believes Isak is the slightly better striker at the moment. “Osimhen is an excellent centre forward and a real handful for defenders,” Robson said on ESPN FC.

“But when I compare him to Isak, I would say Isak is just a little better, though Osimhen is not far behind.”

Isak, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle United during the summer transfer window, has struggled to adapt fully under new manager Arne Slot.

He has scored only once so far this season, a return many consider poor compared to Osimhen’s sharper start in Turkey.

Both players are highly rated for their speed, movement, and finishing ability, and the debate about who is the better striker is expected to continue as the season progresses.

While Osimhen has already made an instant impact in the Champions League, Liverpool fans will be hoping Isak finds his best form quickly to justify his big-money move.
