Dr. Musa Illyasu Kwankwaso has insisted that recent political scenarios unfolding in the North are indicating that northerners are gradually garnering huge support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso, a chieftain of APC in Kano, declared that President Tinubu is consistently receiving support across political lines in northern Nigeria.
Kwankwaso who is the Director of Finance, Hadejia Jamaare River Basin, particularly cited recent endorsement of Tinubu’s reelection by a huge crowd who welcomed the former Governor of Zamfara state and Defence Minister, Bello Matawalle Maradun.
According to Kwankwaso, “northern leaders and political office holders should emulate Bello Matawale Maradun’s political sagacity.
“Since when he was in office as Governor and after his leaving office up to his appointment as Minister, Bello Matawale has never abandoned his people. He is always with them in pains and happiness.
“What Matawale was doing has endeared the people of Zamfara State to the Government of President Tinubu with vast majority of them ready to reelect him in 2027.
“You can see that last Wednesday, over three million people trooped out to welcome Matawalle, and I can tell you that most of them were not invited by anybody. They listed to him and promised to vote Tinubu in 2027.”
Kwankwaso who spoke to journalists in Kano, called on every political appointee from the Northern region to embark on grassroot sensitization of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hopes Agenda, “just like the way the Minister of Defense, Bello Matawale Maradun is doing.
“You should go to grassroots and make your people’s know the efforts of President Tinubu-led Federal Government which is tremendous; more specifically, the Renewed Hopes Agenda programmes which has today completely changed the narrative of democratic dividends in Nigeria.”
