This has sparked debate among fans and football experts about the best way for the club to handle the situation while maintaining team harmony.
Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has expressed concern that Mohamed Salah is harming his own legacy at Liverpool.
The Egyptian forward recently spoke out about his frustrations at the club, claiming he felt “thrown under the bus” and revealing that his relationship with Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has deteriorated.
Rooney, speaking on his podcast, said that Liverpool manager Arne Slot must take strong action to restore discipline and authority in the team.
He suggested that Salah should possibly be left out of the squad for Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League match against Inter Milan on Tuesday and the Premier League clash with Brighton next Saturday.
“Arne Slot has to show his authority and pull him in, telling him, ‘You are not traveling with the team. What you said is not acceptable,’” Rooney said. “If I were him, there would be no way he would be part of the team right now.”
The former England international also emphasized that Salah needs to resolve his issues with the coach quickly or consider leaving Liverpool if the situation cannot be fixed. “It needs to be sorted out quickly, one way or the other,” Rooney added.
Rooney also questioned why Salah, who has been with Liverpool since 2017 after joining from Roma, would make such comments publicly. “He is absolutely destroying his legacy at Liverpool. It would be sad for him to throw it all away. He’s gone about it the wrong way,” he said.
Salah recently expressed frustration over his limited playing time and suggested that someone within Liverpool may be trying to make him take the blame for the team’s recent struggles.
This has sparked debate among fans and football experts about the best way for the club to handle the situation while maintaining team harmony.
Liverpool fans now wait to see whether Salah and Slot can reconcile, or whether the disagreement will affect the team’s performance in crucial upcoming matches.
