Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy says he hopes Mohamed Salah will exit the club gracefully, but only if it happens. The call comes as the Egypt international’s future at Liverpool FC continues to remain uncertain.

Salah has recently sparked controversy after a public outburst following Liverpool’s 3–3 draw with Leeds United. The 33‑year‑old accused the club of “throwing me under the bus” and said his relationship with manager Arne Slot had broken down.

Since then, speculation has grown that Salah could leave as early as January, with reports suggesting possible interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Murphy said: “I think we will [see Mohamed Salah play for Liverpool again] and I hope we do. I think he’ll have time to settle down. The reality is, everybody will want a legend like Salah to go on good terms, with a wonderful send-off – maybe at the end of the season – as great players have had in the past.”

Murphy also stressed that club management ultimately controls what happens. “They’ve got his contract. If he’s adamant he wants to leave, maybe we’ll see it in January. I hope not.”

Liverpool are training today as usual, but the atmosphere is tense ahead of their Champions League trip to Inter Milan. Whether Salah will travel with the squad is uncertain after recent developments.
