Rosenior, a former Premier League and Championship player, joins the Blues with a growing reputation in coaching. He has previously held roles in youth development and first-team coaching, earning recognition for his tactical knowledge and ability to develop young players.

Chelsea Football Club has officially appointed Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team, signing the Englishman to a contract that will run through 2032.

Rosenior joins Stamford Bridge after a successful stint with RC Strasbourg in France, where he guided the club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years during his debut season. He previously held coaching roles in England with Hull City and Derby County.

Commenting on his appointment, Rosenior said he was “extremely humbled and honoured” to take charge of a club with a “unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.” He added that his mission is to protect Chelsea’s identity and build a team that reflects the club’s values in every game.

“I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be the foundation of our success,” Rosenior said. “I am excited to work with this extremely talented group of players and staff, to build strong connections on and off the pitch, and to create an environment where everyone feels united and driven by the same goal.”

The 41-year-old promised to give everything to ensure the team competes and wins at the highest level, while also focusing on player development and upholding the club’s high standards.

Chelsea described Rosenior as a coach capable of getting the best out of the squad quickly, with the responsibility and backing to maintain the club’s competitiveness in all competitions this season and beyond.

The club added: “Chelsea Football Club extends a warm welcome to Liam Rosenior and looks forward to his leadership on and off the pitch. Welcome to Chelsea, Liam!”
