Atiku hosts ex-first lady Aisha Buhari, children in Saudi Arabia

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has hosted Hajiya Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, her daughter Hanan, and other family members Saudi Arabia.

Atiku, a chieftain of opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC, announced that he hosted the former First Lady and her family in a post on his X handles on Friday evening.

According to him, Aisha Buhari and her children who are also in Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj visited him.

The former Vice President said he was honoured to receive them.

Recall that Atiku lost the 2015 presidential ticket of the now ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to Aisha’s husband, the late Muhammadu Buhari.

The former Vice President defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to contest against Buhari in 2019, but he also lost.

Atiku also lost to the 2023 APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

However, he was among the dignitaries that joined in mourning and consoling Aisha and her children when their father passed on last year.

Speaking about his meeting with former first family on Friday, Atiku, in the short post on his X handle said, “I was honoured to host Hajiya Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, her daughter Hanan, and other family members during their visit to me in Saudi Arabia.

“Like me, the former First Lady and her family are in the Kingdom on a lesser hajj. -AA
