Ebuka calls out hotel over ‘419’ room number

Popular media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has stirred reactions online after humorously calling out a luxury hotel for assigning him a room numbered “419” during his vacation in Italy.

Ebuka, who is currently enjoying a romantic getaway with his wife, Cynthia Obianodo, shared a photo of the hotel room door while vacationing at the famous Lake Como.

The now-viral image showed the controversial room number boldly displayed, triggering laughter among his followers.

In his trademark witty style, the former Big Brother Naija host jokingly wrote: “Who am I suing for giving us this room?”

The joke immediately resonated with Nigerians, as “419” is a widely recognized slang for fraud in the country.

The term originates from Section 419 of Nigeria’s Criminal Code Act, which deals with obtaining property by false pretence. Over the years, it has become synonymous with advance-fee fraud schemes.
