‘He used gun on me’ – Papaya Ex cries out over shocking late-night police assault (video)

Nigerian social media influencer and content creator, Abike Raheem, popularly known as Papaya Ex, has alleged that she was assaulted by a police officer during a late-night encounter in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

The influencer made the claim during an emotional TikTok live session on Friday, accusing the officer of physical violence and inappropriate conduct while she was returning home from a shoot.

According to Papaya Ex, what began as a seemingly routine exchange with the officer escalated into a confrontation. She alleged that the officer struck her in the face with a gun, assaulted her driver, and touched her inappropriately.

Although the alleged incident was not captured on video due to network issues, Papaya Ex displayed visible injuries during the live session, including a wound on her face. She also claimed that the officer slapped her, hit her buttocks and breasts, and forcibly seized her mobile phone during the altercation.

Videos circulating online show a heated argument between the influencer and an officer, though the authenticity of the claims and full context of the incident could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.

Papaya Ex, who appeared visibly distressed in the videos, described harassment by police officers in Ajah as a recurring issue for residents. She said the incident occurred as she was returning from a movie set.
