Fresh satellite imagery has emerged showing significant damage to a secure compound in Tehran widely associated with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The images, captured by Airbus, reveal multiple structures within the compound that appear heavily damaged or destroyed. The site is understood to serve as both the official residence and administrative hub for Khamenei.
It remains unclear where Khamenei was during the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes earlier today. Conflicting reports have circulated about his location in recent weeks, fueling speculation about his status.
Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told NBC News that, “as far as I know,” the supreme leader is alive.
Israeli media had previously claimed there were “growing indications” that Khamenei may have been killed or at least injured in the strikes. The first wave of attacks reportedly targeted leadership compounds and strategic sites in Tehran, causing “very significant harm” to parts of the regime’s command structure.
As of now, the situation remains fluid. Satellite imagery provides a clearer picture of the destruction but does not confirm the whereabouts or condition of Iran’s top leader. Analysts continue to monitor developments closely as tensions in the Middle East escalate following the U.S.-Israeli operation.
