Liverpool delivered a commanding performance to defeat West Ham United 5-2 in a Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday.
The hosts raced into a three-goal lead in the first half, with Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk, and Alexis Mac Allister finding the net, putting Liverpool firmly in control by halftime.
West Ham pulled one back through Tomas Soucek in the 49th minute after a low cross from Diouf, but Liverpool quickly restored their three-goal advantage with Cody Gakpo’s strike in the 70th minute. The goal came following a slick pass from Ekitike, with Gakpo finishing low after a deflection off Wan-Bissaka.
The scoring continued as Valentin Castellanos headed in a corner for West Ham in the 75th minute, making it 4-2, before an own goal by Axel Disasi in the 83rd minute sealed Liverpool’s emphatic 5-2 victory.
Other notable moments included a superb save from Alisson to deny Summerville’s effort and yellow cards for Gakpo and Summerville during a heated second half.
With this win, Liverpool continue to assert their dominance at Anfield, displaying attacking flair and defensive solidity, while West Ham will need to regroup after a challenging day on the road.
