Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Rob Edwards has praised Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare for his impressive contribution in Wolves’ stunning 2-1 win over Premier League champions Liverpool at Molineux Stadium on Tuesday night.

Arokodare came off the bench in the second half and immediately made an impact. He provided the assist for Rodrigo Gomes’ opening goal in the 78th minute, giving Wolves the lead in a match that many expected them to struggle in.

His combination of strength, agility, and clever footwork also kept Liverpool’s defense under constant pressure, showing why he is considered one of Wolves’ most dangerous attacking players.

Edwards singled out the substitutes, including Arokodare, for praise, saying their performance was key to turning the game in Wolves’ favor. “It was all about winning the game, and the impact from the substitutes was excellent.

The players who started were also very good, but the energy and creativity from those who came on made a real difference,” Edwards told the club’s official website.
This season, Arokodare has featured in 26 league games for Wolves, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Despite limited goals, his presence on the pitch has been influential, often creating opportunities and drawing defenders away to open space for teammates.

Wolves’ victory over Liverpool is seen as a major morale booster, highlighting the impact of strategic substitutions and the growing importance of players like Arokodare in the team’s plans.
