More than 5,000 professionals drawn from diverse sectors are expected to take part in the maiden edition of the Corporate Olympics scheduled to hold in Lagos on May 1, 2026.
The organisers, Work and Wellness Ltd, disclosed this on Monday during a press briefing in Lagos where activities planned for the one-day sporting event were unveiled.
Speaking at the briefing, the Technical Director of the event, Trebla Albert, described the initiative as far more than a conventional sporting contest, explaining that it is designed to celebrate the human energy that drives productivity in the corporate world.
According to him, Nigeria’s corporate ecosystem is set to experience a unique fusion of business, wellness and competition when the Corporate Olympics makes its debut at the Landmark Event Centre.
Albert explained that the event is conceived as a landmark gathering that will bring together professionals from leading organisations for a day of high-intensity sporting challenges, wellness activities and collaborative competition.
“The Corporate Olympics is more than a sporting event; it is a movement that celebrates the human engine behind business performance,” he said.
Project Manager for the event, Daniel Maduneme, noted that the initiative differs significantly from traditional corporate gatherings.
He explained that while many corporate events revolve around conferences and networking sessions, the Corporate Olympics will provide an immersive platform that blends sports, strategy, media engagement and brand activation.
Maduneme added that the event is structured to strengthen teamwork, encourage healthy lifestyles and build stronger professional relationships across industries.
Also speaking, a resource person for the programme, Maje Ayida, said companies can participate by registering corporate teams, sponsoring activation zones or partnering with the organisers as strategic collaborators.
He added that such partnerships would promote workplace wellness, boost employee productivity and encourage a culture of healthy competition within the corporate environment.
