Quick Read

In a statement released on Monday, the movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Sale Mohammed, said the event showed unity among leaders from different regions and political parties.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has called for leaders in Nigeria to be more inclusive and focused on the future. This message came after its 10th Sallah Kalankuwa celebration, which brought together important political figures from across the country.

In a statement released on Monday, the movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Sale Mohammed, said the event showed unity among leaders from different regions and political parties.

He explained that the gathering was more than just a celebration. According to him, the mix of people present showed a shared desire for a fair, united, and progressive Nigeria.

Mohammed said the event was organized mainly as a cultural and entertainment activity to mark the Sallah celebration, but it also had strong political importance because of the high-profile individuals who attended.

He praised the guests for their presence, saying it added value and meaning to the occasion.

The movement noted that members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Najaatu Bala Mohammed, attended the event. It also highlighted the presence of key members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), including its national leaders and former vice-presidential candidate, Isaac Idahosa.

Mohammed said the gathering of leaders from different political parties shows that working together is possible and necessary for Nigeria’s growth.

He added that such meetings can help build trust, encourage dialogue, and prepare the ground for future political partnerships ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement also restated its commitment to promoting unity and people-focused leadership by creating platforms that bring Nigerians together.

Some of the notable personalities at the event included Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, along with traditional rulers, party leaders, and other stakeholders.
