Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 2-1 victory over Iran national football team in an international friendly played in Antalya, Turkey, on Friday.
The Super Eagles made a bright start, taking the lead in the 6th minute through Moses Simon. The winger capitalised on a swift counterattack, cutting inside from the left before firing a low shot beyond the Iranian goalkeeper to give Nigeria an early advantage.
Nigeria dominated much of the first half, pressing high and creating several scoring opportunities, but went into the break with a slim 1-0 lead.

Iran responded in the 67th minute, pulling one back through Mehdi Taremi following a scramble in the Nigerian penalty area, setting up a tense final phase of the match.
Despite late pressure from the Iranian side, Nigeria held on defensively to secure the win, showing resilience and organisation in the closing minutes.
The victory highlights the Super Eagles’ attacking efficiency and ability to manage games under pressure, with both Simon and Adams playing decisive roles in the outcome.
