Gunmen kill 1, abduct 2 in Kogi border community

After what looked like a moment of relative peace, armed men have resumed operations in Yagba axis of Kogi State.

In the latest attack, which occurred on Saturday, 12 April on the road linking Egbe, Yagbawest of the state and Koro, in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, one person was confirmed killed while two others were abducted.

At about 6 pm on the said Saturday, the gunmen seized the road and unleashed mayhem on innocent travelers. A man simply identified as ‘Eri Okan’ was killed.

Two other indigenes of Koro identified as Alaba, popularly known as “Jogojogo,” and “Man Pass Man,” were abducted by the armed bandits in the attack.

The information was made known by Egbemekun, a community-based socio media platform on Sunday.

Residents of the area have renewed their calls on governments at all levels to boost security and ensure safety of life and property.

It would be recalled that Okunland in Kogi State and parts Kwara State have recorded multiple security breaches in recent times.
