With political manoeuvring intensifying ahead of the 2027 general elections, the PRP said it would resist any effort to weaken its structure.

The Peoples Redemption Party has pushed back against reports of internal cracks, insisting there is no recognised faction within its ranks and accusing unnamed actors of trying to destabilise the party as it gains ground nationally.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, dismissed claims surrounding a group calling itself “PRP-Vanguard Collective”, describing it as unknown to the leadership.

“These so-called individuals are nobodies of consequence and are not known by the PRP leadership or its members. Why is it that we are just hearing about these claims now, at a time when PRP is gaining wider political attention and gathering more momentum?” he said.

Ishaq argued that the timing of the reports suggested a deliberate attempt to slow the party’s progress, adding, “It is clear that these distractions are attempts by certain interests to undermine our progress, but we remain undeterred.”

He stressed that the party would not be intimidated, stating, “We want to make it known that we cannot and will not be shaken by intimidation, media distortion, or propaganda. We are prepared for both genuine and manufactured aggressions.”

With political manoeuvring intensifying ahead of the 2027 general elections, the PRP said it would resist any effort to weaken its structure.

“These rustic antics and tactics are, to some extent, expected as PRP continues to grow and make its mark in Nigerian politics. But know this: they will never succeed in stopping the forward march of PRP,” Ishaq said, adding that the party’s restraint “should not be mistaken for weakness”.

Reaffirming its legacy, the party pointed to its long history and survival through turbulent periods as evidence of its strength, pledging to stay focused on its ideals and national relevance.

“We are ready, and we have begun. The future belongs to those who stand firm in truth and principle. PRP remains committed to its ideals, its members, and the Nigerian people,” the statement added.
