WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has expressed his surprise after Brock Lesnar announced his retirement following his loss at WrestleMania 2026.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Heyman revealed that he had no idea Lesnar was planning to step away from the ring, admitting that he had confidently predicted that Lesnar still had several more years of dominance ahead of him.

Lesnar’s shocking decision to retire came after his defeat to Oba Femi at WrestleMania in Las Vegas. Following the match, an emotional Heyman and Lesnar shared a heartfelt moment in the ring, as Lesnar announced his retirement and the two embraced. Heyman admitted that the moment caught him off guard, revealing that he was unaware of Lesnar’s decision to leave the sport.

Despite Lesnar’s exit, Heyman remains optimistic about the future of WWE, saying that the company’s future is in capable hands. “The future of WWE is in great hands. It’s all about The Vision,” Heyman said, referring to a new generation of rising stars. Heyman named Bron Breakker, Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Austin Theory as the future of WWE, confident that these young talents will help shape the company’s future.

With Lesnar’s retirement, WWE now faces a new era. While Heyman expressed his emotional farewell to Lesnar, he also emphasized that The Vision would carry WWE into the next chapter, with a fresh wave of talent ready to rise.
