“Real Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marc Cucurella, who will join our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032,” the club said in a statement.

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Spanish defender Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth €55 million.

The Spanish giants announced the transfer on Monday, saying the 27-year-old left-back had signed a six-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2032.

“Real Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marc Cucurella, who will join our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032,” the club said in a statement.

Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2022, after earlier coming through Barcelona’s academy and later playing for Getafe.

The defender is currently with Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and becomes the only Real Madrid player in Luis de la Fuente’s squad.

His arrival comes shortly after Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was re-elected earlier in June.

Madrid also recently appointed Jose Mourinho as coach following two seasons without a major trophy.

The club are also expected to sign Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate when his contract at Anfield expires, while they have been linked with Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva and Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

Cucurella leaves Chelsea after a disappointing campaign in which the London club finished 10th in the Premier League.

The Spaniard had two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, where he won the Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League in 2025.
