The Police Command in Edo has arrested three suspects over murder of a middle aged man in Auchi, Administrative Headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a middle aged man, identified as Francis, and popularly known as Jogodo was shot dead by unknown gunmen at Abiodun motor park in Jattu junction of the area on Monday.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the arrest in a telephone interview with NAN in Auchi, Edo.
Ikoedem said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident.
“The command is aware and we arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
“The three suspects have all been transferred to the state Criminal Investigative Department on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident, and also to round up members of the syndicates.
“We have reasons to believe that they are more than these, ” Ikoedem said.
The police spokesperson, however, disclosed that the park, where the incident occured had been closed indefinitely.
