The governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has secured a landslide at the polling unit of Leader of the Senate, Opeyemi Bamidele.
Delivering the outcome of the election Saturday afternoon, Polling Officer, Ms. Elizabeth Oregbemeh disclosed that Oyebanji polled 164 votes while his closest rival and the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Wole Oluyede only scored eight.
According to the polling officer, the governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Mr. Ayodeji Ojo came a distant third with one vote.
Bamidele had earlier expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the Ekiti State governorship election, commending the impressive voter turnout across the state.
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for and the prompt deployment of electoral officials and materials across 16 local governments of the state.
Of the 1,059,360 registered voters, according to the INEC, 1,028,929 collected their Permanent Voter Cards across the state.
